Maxen – derived as a hybrid from my wonderful son’s name (Max) and the end of my name, Helen! Helen Cooper.

After starting my career in Account Management and Sales where I found I loved finding out about people and different industries. In 2006 I moved into recruitment as it offered everything I was passionate about – helping people through understanding business needs – simple!

Now with many years recruitment experience behind me I can confidentially say I have seen a lot!

From starting out on a temporary desk recruiting for office and warehouse temporary staff, my career evolved into permanent recruitment of office staff and helping as a consultant to build a start up recruitment office – which was fantastic exposure. In late 2011 I took the plunge and took an exciting opportunity in London which was the challenge I craved and I honed my previous skills. Here I was placing qualified staff into accountancy practices and I successfully progressed into management.

Professional Accountancy Recruitment

After 4 enjoyable years I wanted to work locally and took the opportunity to set up an office for a medium sized recruitment business in Chelmsford. In this chapter of my career I took on the heady task of setting an office up from scratch which was everything from financials and finding premises to staffing and building a database, growing and ever increasing market presence and bringing clients on board.

Having returned from maternity leave I decided it was not the right fit for me and my family so took the jump and left and am now excited to be taking on the same challenge – but for myself!

I love nothing more than placing the right people in matching companies and am like a dog with a bone until I get it right – I am proud to say that this has paid off and is proven by the repeat business I have enjoyed over the years and candidates turning into clients.

Professionalism is at the core of what I do, but I also understand employers and candidates want to work with a “human” who understands and “gets” their needs – skills and softer skills alike.
